The job profiles of DEO (Data Entry Operator) and Lower Division Clerk (LDC) both Group C and Payband- 01 posts, are an important and irreplaceable need of government ministries/departments and officies. While Data Entry operators are entrusted with the processing of data, Lower Division Clerks are entrusted with similar routine functions that include registration , maintenance, indexing and recording, typing, comparing and preparation of various statements.
On a national level, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) directs SSC CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level) 10+2 examination which is an All India Competitive Examination for recruitment to the Group-"C" posts of Data Entry Operator in Pay Band-1 and Lower Division Clerk in Pay Band-1 in various Central Government Ministries / Departments / Offices.
This exam is important for persons who wish to be employed as a DEO or LDC with government ministeries, departments and officies.
Steps to fill Online Application Form
In offline mode, Job appliers need to download application form available on official site of SSC at www.ssc.nic.in on A4 size white paper in prescribed format.
Now fill all Personal Information, Permanent postal address, education qualification and marks of 12th, post applied for etc.
Attach recent passport size colored photo and signature in it.
Check all details in application form are correct or not and attach CRFS slip and send it to SSC Dept.SSC CHSL Application Form 2016

Date of Examination: 01st, 15th, 22nd November 2015

SSC CHSL Exam 2016 paper pattern:
Part - Subject - Maximum Marks:-
I - General Intelligence (50 questions) - 50 marks
II - English Language (Basic Knowledge) ( 50 questions ) - 50 marks
III Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill) (50 questions) - 50 marks
IV General Awareness (50 questions) - 50 marks
Duration:- 2 Hours
The Paper will consist of Objective Type-Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi for Part-I, III & IV.
There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
Candidates who are applying for aforesaid posts should have passed 12th or its equivalent education from any recognized College/ University.
All contenders have to make payment of Rs.100 as application fee.
Female applicants and candidates from the SC, ST, PH, and Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from payment of fee.
Mode of Payment:
Candidates can either make payment via Challan which can be submitted at any branch of PSB or through one of Net Banking options. Candidates making their payment through the offline mode however, are required to paste "Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS)" on their application form.
Participants will be shortlisted on the basis of Written Examination. Once aspirants passed the written examination, there will be a skill test according to posts.
Post subsidiary or LDC: Typing Test (Should have typing speed of 35 words per minute for candidates opting English medium and 30 words per minute for candidates opting Hindi medium).
DEO: Skill Test (The speed of 8000 key depressions per hour on computer and the test will be for 15 minutes with printed matter in English
