"I am preparing for CLAT 2016. I have taken a drop. Is 5 months of dedicated study enough to make it to NLSIU?" [CLAThacker on Quora]

Question details-

"I scored 81 in CLAT 2015 and secured a rank in 1800s. I took a drop. I have been giving an average of 5-6 hours everyday so far, but with CLAT 2016 coming near, i am not sure if this would be enough.

I have been scoring between 90-110 in LST mocks. Usually, in the top 50.
What should my strategy be?"

Aspirants should understand that progress is not measured in hours studied. I just wrote an answer as to how you should gauge your preparation - Aditya Mehra's answer to I score an average marks in each section o....

You are your best coach. You know exactly where you went wrong in CLAT 2015 and what are your weaknesses. You don't have any other commitments like college or Boards and it is more than ample time to make it. Keep working tirelessly. My favourite analogy is the case of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The whole world knows that they are the two best players of the beautiful game (not risking the debate of who's the better of the two!). The opinion of football pundits (I'm just a fan) is that Lionel Messi is a natural talent, and Ronaldo has to slog tirelessly with the obsessive determination to be the best. Both of them practice constantly to stay at their prime, and both of them are the best.

This is much like CLAT aspirants. One may be gifted with a much better intellect than his peer, and he doesn't need to practice much to get through the  best colleges. However, not everyone is a natural genius. If you work hard and have that unrelenting desire to be the best - you will be at the top, and I just gave you proof!

(Also, mocks are too small a sample space for anything accurate. It's good that you're doing well, but it's not guaranteeing you a seat anywhere).
