I am a third year student in KIIT, I am telling you the pros and cons of the institution:
PROS:
1) Good Infrastructure (Wifi, AC Classrooms, Big playgrounds, Indoor Stadiums, Aesthetic landscaping)
2)Good exposure from other disciplines. (Students have access to library and faculty of School of Management, Labs of School of Biotechnology, Sciences)
3)Provides proper Honours course with 8 papers in more than 8 subjects of law. The syllabus of BSc. LL.B. is unique, focusing on Biotechnology.
4)Faculties are well qualified and helpful. (Most have passed out from NLUs, including NALSAR, NLS).
5)Placements of other department are excellent, Students have interned with the best law firms, including foreign firms).
6) Visit by eminent persons including President, Vice - President, Prime Minister, Chief Ministers, Governors, Nobel laureates, Ambassadors and Envoys, Ex-CJI, Supreme Court Judges, HIgh Court Judges, Jurists, lawyers and law professors, Government bureaucrats, Ministers, etc.
7)Organising several conferences, Moot Courts round the year. (Including Jessops and BCI Moot).
CONS:
1)High Fees (Around 2,45,000 p.a. inclusive of Hostel and Mess fees)
2) Reading with many students who have everything to do with, but studies.
3) Most of the Faculty are young, so dont expect all the teachers to be a well known jurist.
4)You are left to yourself for finding internship for first 2/3 years. (If you are good, it wont be a problem, but if u r just average its gonna be hard.)
5) The library is not adequate for higher research. (Though more than 200 books are added every month)
6)Being a new Law School, there is still time to see what lies in the future.
