Guys try to solve it....
1- A survey on educational system that lasted 3 years found that 15 percent of students who had studies classical logic actually used it in their daily assignments. The study shows that classical logic should no longer be taught.

Which of the following, if true, would most weaken the conclusion of the above passage?

A. The students in this survey were less educated than the average students all over the nation.

B. The time taken for most of the educational surver is around five years.

C. Classical logic is most advantageous when used during examinations, but not for doing routine homework assignments.

D. Classical Logic is extremely difficult to learn.

E. Only tweleve percent of anything learnt is used daily.
its 'c'
i'll go with E
@ kaivalya
C doesn't weaken the conclusion, rather it strengthens it
come on people! volunteer your answers!

is it c, or is it e? :)
Should be E
i thought we were talking about classic logic being used in daily assignments/H.W.s as the problem:
So,accordingly,
C points out clearly that this logic can only be used in exams(which does not concern the surveyors) but not at all in assignments.
E says only 12% of classic logic learnt is used daily.(BUT IT CAN BE USED!)
Conclusion:
E says 12% of what is learnt is used daily assignments/h.w.s
C says 0% of what is learnt can be put to use in daily assignments or h.w.s
Waiting for counter arguments
First of all we need to be clear on what the conclusion is (correct me if i'm wrong):
"Using classical logic in your daily assignments is a damaging exercise." We cannot say anything about how good or bad is it to use classical logic in exams (its not given in the question).

So to 'weaken' this conclusion, we need an option that says "why classical knowledge should be used in daily assignments". So "C" is totally contradictory to the point. It clearly says "but not for doing routine homework assignments". So the conclusion is further strengthened (As Rishabh pointed out).

"E" says - Only twelve percent of anything learnt is used daily. It seriously weakens the conclusion. It not a question of 12%. I would have gone with same option even if it said 49%. And more importantly, E is the only option that weakens the conclusion. All others either strengthens it or are out of context.

Hope u guys agree. Plz point out the discrepancies if any :)
oh?!!I still cant understand how it strengthens the conclusion?
vishal you yourself said that -classis logic being a help in exams is of no objection to the surveyors!
Guys Answer is given C ....
Yo Mayank! :-)

@Kaivalya: The question is : 1- A survey on educational system that lasted 3 years found that 15 percent of students who had studies classical logic actually used it in their daily assignments. The study shows that classical logic should no longer be taught.
Does anywhere it says anything about exams? Only one of the options (C) talks about classical logic being used in exams, but its totally irrelevant as it is not a part of the question.
Moreover, I will again repeat, the conclusion is "Using classical logic in your daily assignments is a damaging exercise." So we have to look for an option that says "why classical logic should be used in daily assignments (not exams)" since it is the opposite of the conclusion and hence weakens it.
Therefore, E.

@Mayank: Answer has to printed wrong or you need to convince me.
